Last Friday, the Ministry of Health held a Health Fair in New Amsterdam as part of activities in observance of World Diabetes Day 2008.

The Berbice Branch of the Public Service Union received a computer last Friday.

Yesterday, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sport Club launched the Basil Butcher Trust Fund.

Yesterday, “B” Division Traffic Department held a march in observance of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

The New Amsterdam Town Council says that artifacts pertaining to the town will be displayed at future Town Days.

Tomorrow,18th November will mark the 30th Anniversary of the mass suicide of over 90 members of the People’s Temple at Jonestown in Guyana – The Jonestown Tragedy.

The Annual Courts Magical Road Show featuring Santa Claus,Mrs.Claus,Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse,Dora,Sponge Bob and an Elf will be in New Amsterdam tomorrow between 2.00 – 4.00pm.The show’s theme this year is “Give a Gift this Christmas”.

At 16:45 hours there will be the Christmas Tree Light-up and Concert in front of the Courts N/A Store.
