According to the Chairman of the “B’ Division Community Policing Group, policing groups are the eyes and ears of the Guyana Police Force.
Community Policing groups continue to receive support from Central Government.
Today is being observed as World Consumer Rights Day, under the theme “Our Money, Our Rights”.
The D & I workers in New Amsterdam are seeking an audience with the Mayor of the Town.

Port Mourant Jaguars captured the First place trophy in the Rollers Volleyball Club handicap competition played yesterday in New Amsterdam.
10 teams participated namely N/A Warriors,Overwinning/Gay Park,Guysuco – Port Mourant Training Centre 1, 2, 3, & 4,Eaglests of Canje,Berbice High School Raiders,Falcon and Port Mourant Jaguars.
In the final Port Mourant Jaguars defeated Guysuco-Port Mourant Training Centre 1 in a 2 in best of 3: 9-15, 15-11 and 15-12.In the 3rd place playoff Eaglets of Canje defeated BHS Raiders 21-14.

The club has been in existence since 1976 and plans to hold another competition in August of this year as part of its 34th Anniversary Week of Activities.
