The Young and the Restless

Originally premiering in 1973 the show revolved around the Brooks and the Fostter family. Patriarch Stuart Brooks was an upper class newspaper publisher and Liz Foster was a single parent struggling to pay bills. During the early 1980s the two families were phased and and the Abbot and Williams and Newman families were introduced.

Since 1988 The Young and the Restless has been Americans most watched soap opera, despite suffering from decreasing audience figures.

The have been many crossovers between the Young and the Restless and its sister show The Bold and the Beautiful.
